Elephun Wednesday
This week for our Elephun Wednesday picture we have proof that you can not be anything you want to be, no matter what the after school specials tell you. All this poor guy wanted was to be a cowboy and because some encouraging person told him he could be anything he wanted to be there was a horrible tragedy. Remember this when one of your friends wants to go on one of those TV talent shows. Sometimes honesty is better for everyone.

Get His Goat
The Shipping Monkeys are firm believers in acknowledging excellence. We have to give credit where credit is due. Especially when the field of excellence is being an a$$. So we want to take a moment to recognize Babbit. He has an uncanny ability to get Bee Hee's goat every time. Others have hit the mark on occasion but Babbit never misses. From his thoughts on elephants, his opinions of cabbage and meatballs and most of all his wonderful plunger sound effects Babbit is the undisputed king of pissing Bee Hee off. All other monkeys are in awe of his astounding talent. We can never hope to reach such lofty heights. But we will continue to try. Babbit gives us all something to strive for.

Saggy Baggy Elephant Review
The Saggy Baggy Elephant by Tennant
Redbank illustrated by Garva Hathi
Sooki the elephant tries everything to get rid of his saggy baggy skin until he learns that he doesn't have to.
The story is simple and good for beginning readers. The pictures are cute and bright. And there is a good message here that you should not feel the need to change who you are to meet someone else's idea of who you should be. There is also a lesson here that the Monkeys, just like Sooki, have all learned. Keep moving until you find people just like you, because people who are different will never accept you. That's how we all ended up together. And although it has worked out pretty well for us (and quite frankly everyone else too since they don't have to deal with us) I'm not sure it's quite the lesson you want to be teaching your young impressionable children. So if you read this classic story to your children just make sure they are getting the message you intended them to get.

Elephun Wednesday
It is Elephun Wednesday again. And this time we have found a delicious creation for your enjoyment. Isn't he cute? He looks good enough to eat. In fact, every time I look at him I get hungry. And now I want cake. Lots and lots of cake. Maybe even a cake as big as an elephant.

Elephun Wednesday
This week we are celebrating Bee Hee so we let him have some say in what the Elephun Wednesday picture was going to be. And since we all know he spends most of his time at the casino we were not surprised by what he picked. Let's hope the elephant is luckier than Bee Hee usually is.
In Celebration of Bee Hee
Last week was Bee Hee's birthday! And I missed it. But... I think I made up for it with this Swiss Roll. It was a hit with everyone. Even Babbit had nothing bad to say about it. It didn't even last the whole day. So although it is not exactly a Yule Log like he had wanted I don't think he was too disappointed.

Score!
Kudos to Danny...Boy who found us this pen (and a handful of paperclips) in the bags this week. It came just in time to fill out our time-sheets. I don't know what we would have done without this great find since all of our supplies have to be scrounged. We will have to keep an eye on this pen or we will be filling out our time-sheets in blood next week.

Elephun Wednesday
This week's Elephun Wednesday picture reminds us that it is flu season. Remember to get your flu shot. You don't want to end up lethargic, stuffy headed, bleary eyed and miserable like this poor bastard. How much Theraflu do you think an elephant would need? I'm betting CVS does not have enough. I'd run out and get some right now before it's all gone.
