Elephant in the Wild

This is a combination Elephant in the Wild and a kudos.  Because Fishy Fishy definitely deserves a shout out for bringing in these wonderful peanut snacks.  They are awesome.  Sometimes Fishy Fishy is my hero.

Kudos

This is long overdue.  But I thought it was fitting to wait until the long trial was over.  And since his part is pretty much done now I wanted to acknowledge the outstanding job the little elevator has done over the last 22 months.  It has gone above and beyond trying to move everyone and everything.  Sure, it had a couple of bad days, and it took a few days off, but then who didn't?  It has been banged around, abused and sworn at but it has served us well.  Hopefully with the lighter work load he can finally get some much needed rest.  Thank you for your valiant efforts.  We, quite literally, couldn't have done it without you.

Score!

Kudos to Danny...Boy who found us this pen (and a handful of paperclips) in the bags this week.  It came just in time to fill out our time-sheets.  I don't know what we would have done without this great find since all of our supplies have to be scrounged.  We will have to keep an eye on this pen or we will be filling out our time-sheets in blood next week.

Kudos

I am going to do something that has never been done on this blog before.  I am going to give out a kudos that is completely serious and not at all facetious.  No, really.  That wasn't me being facetious.  We have been shorthanded a lot lately while everyone is trying to use up the last of their time before the year is over.  And everyone is stepping up and doing more than their part to make up the difference.  But I want to give a special shout out to Henry who often finds himself alone at the bins.  I know from experience how hard it is to keep up with the table when you are the only one sorting at the bins.  So I want to acknowledge the great job Henry has done in not letting us fall too far behind.  He has never once had to get the spare cart.  And all while he keeps up with the elephant book commentary and his wonderful dances.  Kudos to you, Henry.

Kudos

Kudos this week go to Tobeato's doctor.  The man is obviously some sort of miracle worker.  Last week Tobeato could only lift five pounds and was never going to get any better without surgery.  But practically overnight he has made a full recovery.  He is back lifting fifty pound bags and running around like nothing was ever wrong.  I don't know what his doctor did but it produced amazing results.  Babbit should get his number.

Kudos

Ok.  So this week kudos goes to the UPS man.  Why?  Well, because every day this week he has had about six packages to deliver to us.  That never happens.  And we loved it.  Keep it up.

Kudos

Kudos this week goes to Seabiscuit for not showing up on Friday.  We all enjoyed the break.  We got to unload the vans with no one on the ramp.  And his replacement said absolutely nothing.  It was a nice change.  So thank you for being an irresponsible employee.  We appreciated it.

Kudos

We have a lot to celebrate in kudos this week.

First we have to give kudos to Alan because he finally bought us that lunch he promised to buy us like 8 months ago.  It was delicious and free for everyone but Alan.  So you really can't beat that.  Thank you, Alan.

Next we have to acknowledge Babbit again.  It was awesome when he made Big Ed's screaming goat ring tone go off, not once, but twice, during the pizza party.  The second one during the thank you speech.  Good one, Babbit.

Also, Bucky gets kudos this week as well.  That's right.  I'm giving myself kudos.  I deserve it.  I made Danny...Boy his favorite cookies for his birthday.  Now, by itself, making cookies might not be enough to get kudos.  But it is July.  And it was 90 in my kitchen before I turned the oven on.  And we all know how I loooove the heat.  Besides, they are fantastic cookies.  Just look at them.

Kudos

This week a double kudos (something I made up just for this because regular kudos just wouldn't do) goes to Fishy Fishy.  In what was a surprise to all of us, Fishy Fishy worked elephant books into his interview for the newsletter.  He hadn't told any of us what he had said so it was even better when we read it and found out for ourselves.  Good job, Fishy Fishy.  We all agree it was a stroke of genius.

Kudos

Babbit has once again gotten kudos.  And you won't believe what he did.  He actually got his own lunch.  He left the building and walked to a restaurant to pick up his own lunch.  Unbelievable!

On a less impressive note, he also brought back some forks from two different locations.

Kudos also go to Danny..Boy and Bee Hee for having conflicting schedules.  Since they could not make lunch on the same day the rest of us had an excuse to go out to lunch twice this week.  Thanks, guys.

Kudos

Babbit came back with a bang and made this an all Babbit kudos this week.

First, once again a package was delivered to us that was not for us.  This one said it contained medical equipment.  So Babbit found the number for the real recipient and called her.  Unfortunately she only spoke Italian.  But that didn't stop Babbit.  He somehow managed to communicate with her and got a very nice woman her (possibly) life saving package.

And he cleaned off the desk.  Well, maybe that's a bit grand since nothing in shipping can ever actually be clean.  But there is far less stuff junking up the place.  I think he might have even filed some things.  I'm proud of you, Babbit.

But, lest all this praise go to his head, I feel I must mention that he went to the cafe TWICE and didn't bring back a single fork.  WTF?

Kudos!

To Danny...Boy who remembered that we had zip lock bags.  It doesn't sound like much, but when you have delicious cake that you don't know how to store and keep safe from the mice it is a big deal.  Cake saved!

Also to all of the Monkeys (except Babbit, who is not here) for making it through this crazy week.  For dealing with Mount Bookmore EVERY day.  (What was up with that?)  And the oppressive heat.  And internal annoyances.  (You know what [or who] I mean.)  And our "guest" who stayed all week long.  It was a long hard week.  Congrats on making it to Friday.

Kudos

This week we have an honorary kudos because, even though he is not a Monkey, we thought he deserved a mention.

We will call him Officer Friendly (because believe it or not some people don't think it is an honor to be mentioned on our blog).  He saw a car illegally parked that he could have had towed.  Instead he went above and beyond to find the owner of the car and have her move it so she would not have to spend $200 to get it back.  Bucky and E-Dog get an assist on this kudos since they helped Officer Friendly track down the wayward parker.

Danny...Boy also gets a mention for making another perfect pick for lunch this Friday.  That makes three in a row.  All picks have been just right and dispensed with all the drama that usually goes along with trying to get all the Monkeys to agree on what to eat.  Let's hope he can keep the streak going.

Kudos!!!

Kudos this week goes out to two Monkeys.

First, Babbit who got us these great pens.  A whole box of them!  And they actually write.  We are all very excited.

And, Danny...Boy who raided several locations to reclaim our shipping bags.  Which for some reason people try to keep from us so he had to search high and low to root them out.

Good job, Boys.  Keep it up.
