Elephun Wednesday

Look at this cute little guy, okay, so he's not that little.  But he sure is cute.  And he is out enjoying the April showers that will hopefully bring us some May flowers.  Maybe we will see our friend running in a field of daisies next month.  Tune in to find out.

Elephants in the Wild

Seriously, elephants are everywhere.  I was just shopping at Marshall's (don't judge me, I needed something quick) and there he was.  More proof that everyone loves elephants.

Now It's Home

Our flag is up!  We have been carefully keeping our flag under wraps until we were back home.  And now we are.  And now that our flag is flying again it really feels like we are completely moved in.  Thanks to Danny...Boy for cleaning it for us and thanks to Big Ed for hanging it for us.

Elephun Wednesday

In honor of the marathon and everyone who has the courage to run it we have chosen this plucky elephant for our Elephun Wednesday.  He may not be in the front but he won't give up.  You go, Elephant Guy.  We applaud your efforts.  You would never find me running in any sort of race so good on you.

Inappropriate!

So the Shipping Monkeys see a lot of books.  And perhaps it is our sick minds but some of the children's book covers do not look right to us.  We spend a lot of time discussing whether the illustrators are oblivious or not.  What do you think?

First of all, what is that bear doing?  I mean, really?  Second, what is the rabbit going to do with that corn?  It doesn't look like he plans to eat it.  But my favorite part is how the rabbit is looking at us.  Like we all know exactly what he is planning to do with the corn and we are all in it together, except for the bear.  The rabbit is like 'we all know where this is going, right? And it is the stupid bear's own fault for sitting like that.'  And quite frankly I can't disagree with the rabbit.  The bear should have known better.

Elephun Wednesday

Opening day!  Although I don't know that this is going to be a very fun baseball game since I don't think the lion can throw a ball.  But I'm not sure that's going to matter much since the elephant looks like he just used the game as a pretext to get the lion there so he could beat him with that baseball bat.  Batter up!

Miracles Do Happen!!

We were all beginning to wonder if it would ever happen.  But today it did!  We have been recalled from exile and allowed back into our home.  It is a wondrous thing.  We are all very excited.  Giddy even.  I did a little dance to celebrate.  And if you knew me, you would know how rarely I am that excited.  I don't know that anyone else on earth could understand how momentous this event is in the life of a Shipping Monkey.  Home again, home again.  And we all love it.  Take a look.  Isn't she pretty?

Thank you to all of the people who helped us get back.  The carpenters made us a lovely new bin.  The painters painted our bins and stenciled them for us.  The laborers cleaned off our old sorting table until it was even better than before.  And our very own Kid set up our phone and computer in a very timely fashion.  Thanks, everybody.
